Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer, which reports to our Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant. You will have the chance to lead and direct teams of Geo-Environmental engineers on a variety of projects, acting as Lead Engineer on high risks projects. Also to act as line manager to team members and advise on personnel development. Your task will be to undertake hydrogeological studies and assist in developing groundwater control strategies and concept designs, as well as conduct data collection, manipulation and interpretation of geological, and chemical data. Along with being responsible for preparation of technical reports you will also monitor project performance against contracts/project quality plans. The role also requires assisting the Team Leader in winning work and maximising both company and team opportunities with clients.

About You
  • You will be (or will be working towards becoming) Chartered Engineer (ICE), a Geologist (CGeol)

  • Must have experience and knowledge of UK’s geology and the importance of ground modelling, with a good understanding of superficial geology and its implications to civil/geotechnical designs

  • Excellent working knowledge of contaminated land management, contaminant hydrogeology and construction dewatering

  • Be experienced in specifying, procuring and management of ground investigation for civil design projects and contaminated land assessments, including production of Ground Investigation Reports for civil design schemes/geo-environmental

  • Understand the geotechnical aspects of civil engineering design and construction principles and standards

  • It is required that you will have strong knowledge of Eurocodes, BS5930 and BS10175 and other relevant contaminated land standards as well as technical knowledge of geo-environmental modelling software including holebase SI, ConSim, CLEA, Slide (SeepW)

Experience of managing more junior staff would definitely be an advantage.

Working in a medium sized office offers the opportunity to take on responsibilities usually afforded to more Senior people in larger offices.

    There is an opportunity to develop within this role to either a Principal Engineer, Professional Head or Head of Department.

    Additional duties of this post include:
    • Achieve the targets agreed regarding staff utilisation and contract costs and income.
    • Monitor project performance against contracts and take necessary corrective action.
    • Secure business by developing and maintaining contacts with clients.
    • Develop engineering staff to ensure the skills are available to meet business objectives.
    • Monitor procedures and systems to ensure the safety of staff, and others, affected by the operations of TSP.
    • Lead projects on behalf of clients as directed. Allocate competent staff to projects to ensure delivery in accordance with contract.
    • Provide Technical Assurance on all Electrical Services designs within designated office.
