    Electrical building services technician reporting to the Principal Engineer in the Building Services team. Currently 14 strong with a mixture of seniors, engineers, and technicians the team is currently delivering projects into the rail and energy from waste sectors.
    As a technician within the team you will work closely with an engineer to produce compliant designs for LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire and security using a range of software including Hevacomp, Amtech, Relux, AutoCAD, Microstation and Revit.     With this being a senior role, you will take a lead role in providing full commercial support to project delivery teams and portfolios for projects allocated to the Birmingham office.     As Senior Site Supervisor, reporting to Site Agent or Head of Construction you will be required to support the management of our works on site particularly for British Steel , with added flexibility to work on Vinci / Modular Schemes.
    We have 3 potential schemes to start in October on British Steel , with 3  further Schemes with Vinci.
     
    The Duties for Senior Site Supervisor include:
    • Understand the client procedures for the work on site. Establish good working relationship with Client, and any site operational teams

    • Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to Safety and Quality procedures

    • Coordinate with Subcontractors and ensure they have the correct resources and are working in line with the programme.

    • Order and Call off Plant as required in conjunction with Site Agent

    • Maintain up to date plant registers, and weekly inspections

    • Attend weekly site meetings and also weekly subcontractor meetings.

    • Lead daily site coordination meetings.

    • Help develop Work Package Plans, Method Statements and Risk Assessments and compiling client workpacks

    • Ensure work is undertaken to all Work Package Plans, Method Statements and risk assessments and they are briefed to the workforce

    • Ensure all Labour /Subcontractors comply with all site rules and PPE requirements

    • Manage all material deliveries to site including offloading and distribution

    • Carry out daily and weekly safety inspection 

    • Assist the Site Agent with producing dayworks for any changes to the scope of the works.

    • Ensure compliance with quality procedures, particularly test and inspection plans and assist with witness and hold point signing off, and therefore coordinating with Clients representative as required.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor - Pre Contract

    York

    To fulfil the role of Pre-Contract Senior Quantity Surveyor within TSP Projects’ Head Office in York you will be performing the commercial function of reviewing and negotiating all contract documents received from clients and suppliers. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be directly reporting to the Commercial Team Leader, working as part of a small team supporting others and reporting on the status of projects for which they are responsible.

    The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor within the TSP York office, will require you to review all contract documentation which is received by TSP Projects, both pre and post tender stage, and advise the business on the acceptability of any proposed agreement, by projecting the commercial and legal interests of TSP Projects. Negotiation is key in reaching agreement on contract terms for each project before seeking Director approval/sign off, by highlighting the risks, requirements, liabilities and obligations of each contract entered into and report these to the Project Delivery Teams.

    Our current contract values likely to be between £50K - £5m.
     
    Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
    - Ensure agreed payment terms allow for regular invoicing with the shortest possible payment   cycles.
    - Review insurance requirements of all agreements and ensure contractual obligations are covered by TSP Projects’ policies.
    - Negotiate terms which maximise fee for additional work.
    - Client facing and maintain good relationship with commercial counterpart on each project.

    - Liaise with the engineering disciplines to understand the inherent risks on each project and how these can be reduced through contract negotiation.

    - Prepare documentation detailing any security requirements (e.g. performance bond) to issue for board approval.
    - Produce a report upon completion of negotiating the terms of an agreement, to be issued to the Project Delivery Teams, highlighting the contract’s key issues and administration requirements.
    - Answer all contract and insurance related queries
    - Present commercial awareness training to the business when required.

    QS - Bid Estimator

    York

    To fulfil the role of Design Bid Estimator within TSP Projects’ Head Office in York; working closely with the Proposals and Commercial Department, Bid Teams and appropriate disciplines to provide design estimates for various, predominantly rail, projects.

    • Ensure that tender pricing is completed by the stated deadlines;
    • Contribute to TSP Project’s target win rate by preparing competitive bids (at all times subject to director approval);
    • Prepare pricing documents in line with tender requirements
    • Streamline the approach to bidding for projects <£100K, taking sole responsibility for pricing them.
    Projects valued between £50K to £5m.
