    Project Engineer

    Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines for infrastructure projects being delivered principally from the Reading and Birmingham regions.  As part of the Project Services team and reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, your role will be to manage all the technical and assurance activities to ensure project accuracy, quality, safety and compliance from bid stage to completion.  Engineering coordination and integration is core to the Project Engineer's day-to-day running of the project.


    You will take responsibility for the management of multi-discipline design teams, delivering designs to programme, monitoring and reviewing deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and legislation, with input into organising and prioritising workload within a schedule.

    Other responsibilities include:
    • Acting as CEM or Design Manager, responsible for developing and delivering project-wide multi-disciplinary design for infrastructure projects, principally railway projects
    • Required to integrate project-wide railway infrastructure and systems with other packages of work throughout the project or programme
    • Work closely with individual discipline CREs from within the business and a variety of different design houses
    • Attention to detail and good technical report writing, communication/ presentation and inter-personal skills
    • Setting and embedding the project technical delivery strategy
    • Prepare project status reports and regular reporting back to the Project Manager or Project Director on resource, programme, technical interfaces and compliance issues that impact on the technical delivery.

    Health & Safety Manager


    The Health & Safety Manager role will be line managed by the Managing Director to whom they report.
    On a day to day basis you will work closely with the Lead Board Director for Health & Safety.
    • You will also work closely with the HR Director who is responsible for delivery of Wellbeing across TSP.
    • Their responsibilities will include the establishment of a H&S team to deliver all necessary services internally and through a supply chain.
    • They will provide, operate and maintain the TSP Health & Safety Strategy and provide advice to the business on Health & Safety matters
    • The role gives the opportunity to develop effective communications on health and safety matters
    • The role gives the opportunity to maintain and improve TSP record on health and safety including improvements and innovation
    • Working in safety critical industries it is essential the role ensures we are able to retain all our Health & Safety accreditations

    Senior Structural Engineer


    The successful candidate will report directly to the Team Leader and will be expected to carry out the following duties:-

    • Lead, advise and direct teams of Engineers, Graduates and Technicians in producing surveys, designs, studies and reports for the required structural works on multi - disciplinary Engineering projects. Support will be provided on large or complex projects from the team leader or a Principal Engineer.
    •     Checking of designs and drawings and other works undertaken by the team, providing feedback and coaching where necessary. It is expected that the candidate can carry out this work on all schemes with the exception of complex projects where support will be provided.
    •     Production of outline and detailed (as appropriate) structural design for multi-disciplinary projects. It is expected that the candidate can carry out this work on all schemes with the exception of complex projects where support will be provided.
    •     Extensive knowledge of structural detailing in the main structural components Steelwork, Concrete, Masonry and Timber
    •     Liaising with internal teams, external clients and partners.  It is expected that the candidate can carry out this work without supervision.
    •     Budgetary and Programme Control of the structural teams work on individual projects. It is expected that the candidate can carry out this requirement without supervision.

    The Structures Team within TSP consists of 12 Engineers and Technicians split over two offices in York and Manchester. The team is currently engaged in a wide variety of projects including Refurbishment works  to a steel framed roof of a major Railway Station in the North of England,  the sub and superstructure design of a new concourse at a major transport hub in the South of England, the superstructure design  a number of large Industrial buildings.
