    Rail Project Manager

    Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Rail Sector Project Manager, which reports to our Regional Director, you will have the chance to  work in a current team of 30 people with plans to grow to 60 in the Birmingham office with a wider support network of 400 plus people across the UK.

    In order to be able to submit excellent submissions to our clients the role includes working with our Proposals Team. You will be responsible for ensuring a tender is issued to our Clients in the most professional manner.  You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a wealth of relevant company information on project details, industry articles, awards, letters of commendation, technical answers to tender questions and business capabilities. You will offer direct support to the Regional Director in developing new relationships with key clients in the Midlands. This will include early identification of project opportunities, informing the business of market information and assisting in defining winning strategies.

    As the opportunities brought into the Birmingham office and elsewhere in the business become full projects, the successful candidate will then take overall responsibility for the delivery of those projects to time and budget. Depending on the size and complexity of each project or programme of works, this may include co-ordination of a team of Project Services members, including project management, commercial, planning and technical co-ordination.

    This role offered to the successful person will enable them to develop towards an Associate Director position with full account management responsibilities for major clients based in the midlands. Working in a medium sized office offers the opportunity to take on responsibilities usually afforded to more Senior people in larger offices.

    Job Purpose:

    • To analyse and report on SHE & Compliance performance.
    • Provide assistance in investigating and closing out of close call/near miss and incidents.
    • Assist in the delivery of H&S (Health & Safety) training.
    • Assist in the provision of general H&S support to the business.
    • Track H&S Legislation.

     

     

    Principal Accountabilities:
    • Analyse SHE & Compliance activities and identify trends.
    • Collate, analyse and produce Board Reports.
    • Produce reporting metrics for use within the SHE & Compliance function.
    • Manage the close calls/near misses and incidents process.
    • Assist in closing out close calls/near misses/incidents.
    • Assist in the production and delivery of H&S training.
    • Carry out role of DSE Assessor (training will be provided to carry out this function)
    • Provide general H&S support to the business.
    • Any other duties as required
