    Rail Senior Project Manager

    Reading

    Due to the continued growth of the organisation, we are looking to appoint an experienced, commercially focussed Senior Project Manager to work on an exciting portfolio of Rail projects.

    Based in Reading and reporting directly to the Project Management Team Leader, the Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful and safe delivery of projects to agreed time, budget and quality. Providing a first-class, consistent and effective project management service to clients, you will lead and direct a multi-disciplinary project team (Commercial, Planning, Project Management, Technical) throughout the project life cycle, ensuring appropriate resources are allocated across all projects.

    You will help to identify new project opportunities, informing the business of relevant market information and assisting in defining winning strategies. However, your primary focus will be in the actual delivery of projects once they have been secured. The team is currently 15 strong across the UK and the Senior Project Manager will play a key role as the organisation looks to grow its business across the Birmingham and Reading offices.

    Senior Commercial Manager

    York

    Senior Commercial Manager reporting to the Commercial Team Leader. You will be working as part of a small team supporting others and reporting on the status of projects for which you are responsible.

     

    To fulfil the role of Senior Commercial Manager within TSP Projects York office; you will be performing the commercial function (e.g. reporting, cost control etc) as part of the Project Delivery Team, providing support across a portfolio of projects and to the project team members.

     

    To work on a portfolio of projects, predominantly Rail related however to include others across a range of sectors (e.g. Energy, Aviation, Security and Defence), managing projects for a Contractor Client. Projects typically range in value from £50K to £5m.

    Senior Commercial Manager - Pre Contract

    York

    As Pre Contract Senior Commercial Manager based at our HQ in York, you will be performing the commercial function of reviewing and negotiating all contract documents received from clients and suppliers.

    Within this role, you will be directly reporting to the Commercial Team Leader, working as part of a small team supporting others and reporting on the status of projects for which you are responsible.

    The role of  Pre Contract Senior Commercial Manager will require you to review all contract documentation which are received by TSP Projects, both pre and post tender stage, and advise the business on the acceptability of any proposed agreement by projecting the commercial and legal interests of TSP Projects.

    Negotiation is key in reaching agreements on contract terms for each project before seeking Director approval/sign off, by highlighting the risks, requirements, liabilities and obligations of each contract entered into and report these to the Project Delivery Teams.

    The Commercial team is growing in line with business expansion which can support career progression.

    Our current contract values likely to be between £50K - £5m.

    Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

    • Ensure agreed payment terms allow for regular invoicing with the shortest possible payment cycles.
    • Review insurance requirements of all agreements and ensure contractual obligations are covered by TSP Projects’ policies.
    • Negotiate terms which maximise fee for additional work.
    • Client facing and maintain good relationship with commercial counterpart on each project.
    • Liaise with the engineering disciplines to understand the inherent risks on each project and how these can be reduced through contract negotiation.
    • Prepare documentation detailing any security requirements (e.g. performance bond) to issue for board approval.
    • Produce a report upon completion of negotiating the terms of an agreement, to be issued to the Project Delivery Teams, highlighting the contract’s key issues and administration requirements.
    • Answer all contract and insurance related queries
    • Present commercial awareness training to the business when required.

    Project Engineer

    Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines for infrastructure projects being delivered principally from the Reading and Birmingham regions.  As part of the Project Services team and reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, your role will be to manage all the technical and assurance activities to ensure project accuracy, quality, safety and compliance from bid stage to completion.  Engineering coordination and integration is core to the Project Engineer's day-to-day running of the project.

     

    You will take responsibility for the management of multi-discipline design teams, delivering designs to programme, monitoring and reviewing deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and legislation, with input into organising and prioritising workload within a schedule.

      
    Other responsibilities include:
    • Acting as CEM or Design Manager, responsible for developing and delivering project-wide multi-disciplinary design for infrastructure projects, principally railway projects
    • Required to integrate project-wide railway infrastructure and systems with other packages of work throughout the project or programme
    • Work closely with individual discipline CREs from within the business and a variety of different design houses
    • Attention to detail and good technical report writing, communication/ presentation and inter-personal skills
    • Setting and embedding the project technical delivery strategy
    • Prepare project status reports and regular reporting back to the Project Manager or Project Director on resource, programme, technical interfaces and compliance issues that impact on the technical delivery.

    Health & Safety Manager

    TSP Projects are hiring for an experienced Health & Safety Manager for a brand-new role based at our HQ in York.
     
    Reporting to the Managing Director, the Health & Safety Manager will work closely with the Lead Board Director for Health & Safety and the HR Director for delivery of wellbeing across TSP.
     
    Responsibilities include:-

    • Establishment of a H&S team to deliver all necessary services internally and through a supply chain
    • Provide, operate and maintain the TSP Health & Safety Strategy and provide advice to the business on Health & Safety matters
    • Developing effective communications on health and safety matters
    • Maintaining and improving TSP's record on health and safety including developments and innovation, while ensuring Health & Safety accreditations are in place
    • Driving behavioural change

    Within this role you will manage the day to day delivery of Health & Safety best practice and devise accident and incident prevention strategies.

    Senior Structural Engineer (York/Manchester)

    York

    The successful candidate will be based from York/Manchester and will report directly to the Team Leader in York and will be expected to carry out the following duties:-

    • Lead, advise and direct teams of Engineers, Graduates and Technicians in producing surveys, designs, studies and reports for the required structural works on multi - disciplinary Engineering projects. Support will be provided on large or complex projects from the Team Leader or a Principal Engineer.
    • Checking of designs and drawings and other works undertaken by the team, providing feedback and coaching where necessary. It is expected that the candidate can carry out this work on all schemes with the exception of complex projects where support will be provided.
    • Production of outline and detailed (as appropriate) structural design for multi-disciplinary projects. It is expected that the candidate can carry out this work on all schemes with the exception of complex projects where support will be provided.
    • Extensive knowledge of structural detailing in the main structural components Steelwork, Concrete, Masonry and Timber
    • Liaising with internal teams, external clients and partners.  It is expected that the candidate can carry out this work without supervision.
    • Budgetary and Programme Control of the structural teams work on individual projects. It is expected that the candidate can carry out this requirement without supervision.

    The Structures Team within TSP consists of 12 Engineers and Technicians split over two offices in York and Manchester. The team is currently engaged in a wide variety of projects including refurbishment works to a steel framed roof of a major Railway Station in the North of England, the sub and superstructure design of a new concourse at a major transport hub in the South of England and the superstructure design a number of large industrial buildings.

    Reporting to the Project Director, you will recruit, manage, develop and deploy individuals within the Project Management team in order to meet TSP Projects’ operational and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities will include monitoring the performance of Project teams whilst supporting effective team build-up through appropriate allocation of Project Managers throughout the UK.

    Recruitment Business Partner

    York

    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced in-house Recruitment professional to play a key role in a growing Human Resources Department. Reporting to the HR Director, you will manage the recruitment and selection requirements across the TSP organisation ensuring a comprehensive end to end resourcing service is provided in line with TSP Project’s business demands.

    Working with multi-site offices throughout the UK, the Recruitment Business Partner role is pivotal to supporting the delivery of our recruitment requirements. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective attraction methods to ensure strong talent pipelines are in place whilst managing all elements of the recruitment lifecycle. There will be particular focus on direct sourcing methods through the use of social media (LinkedIn etc).

    The Recruitment Business Partner will also assume responsibility for managing the PSL with particular emphasis on cost management without losing focus on service delivery. Working closely with all HR functions to facilitate a seamless service delivery to TSP Projects will be crucial to the success of this post and the wider HR department, as will ensuring an optimum candidate experience is delivered throughout - from initial engagement, to selection and onboarding.
